About

Our mission is to educate the public about the fiber arts

and to promote knowledge and skills in the fiber arts,

both by members and the public.

The Guild is a group of fiber arts enthusiasts who get together for a monthly meeting on the last Saturday of every month from 10:30 a.m – 3:00 p.m. In addition to the meeting we occasionally have a pre-meeting demonstration and then spin, knit, crochet, etc., and enjoy a potluck while we visit and learn from each other. The meeting location may vary and will be listed under the Next Meeting on this website.

We also sometimes conduct a workshop by one of our very talented members or an invited instructor. This information can be found under Guild Events.

There is a form and information on the webpage under Join the Guild to sign up and feel free to use the Contact Us page if you have further questions.

Anyone with an interest in Fiber Arts is welcome.

History

Between 1990 – 1993, a core group of fiber enthusiasts met to plan an annual fiber festival. The Big Sky Fiber Arts Festival grew each year. In the Fall of 1994, the group decided it would be fun to also have monthly meetings. By 1999, over 2,000 people attended the Festival. In 2001, the Festival separated from the Guild and became a biannual event.

As the years went by, the Guild, in addition to the monthly meetings, began offering educational programs, workshops, Spin-Ins and a website. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
