About

Our mission is to educate the public about the fiber arts

and to promote knowledge and skills in the fiber arts,

both by members and the public.

The Guild is a group of fiber arts enthusiasts who get together once a month to spin, knit, crochet and learn from each other. We conduct a meeting the last Saturday of every month from 10:30 a.m – 3:00 p.m. This includes a potluck lunch and occasionally we have a demonstration or a workshop by one of our very talented members or an instructor. The meeting location may vary and will be listed under Next Meeting on this website. Please Contact Us if you have further questions. Anyone with an interest in Fiber Arts is welcome.

History

Between 1990 – 1993, a core group of fiber enthusiasts met to plan an annual fiber festival. The Big Sky Fiber Arts Festival grew each year. In the Fall of 1994, the group decided it would be fun to also have monthly meetings. By 1999, over 2,000 people attended the Festival. In 2001, the Festival separated from the Guild and became a biannual event.

The Guild has changed over the years. Added to the monthly meetings, we offer educational programs, workshops, Spin-Ins, a monthly newsletter and a website. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Anyone interested in the Fiber Arts is welcome to join.
